Vallnord WorldCup report > need your help with English riders

Hello,

I'm a Spanish cameraman operator and I did the media coverage of the Vallnord (Andorra) Mountain Bike World Cup for the UCI organization. We have edited a 30-minute TV report with the best pictures and the best interviews and we will broadcast it soon here in Spain.

But we have a little problem, there are some rider interviews we do not understand.

I would like to ask you to transcribe me some (difficult) parts of the interviews I do not understand because my English is not so good.

Here is the report:

I just need to know what these riders say here:

15:20 to 15:30
  • I run a Norco Four Crosser and it is beautiful to juli (what is juli??)
  • i'm so glad im not on a hard tail (what is that?)

22:00 to 22:27
She speaks so fast, I do not understand anything. Could you please transcribe what she says, please.

22:29 to 22:48
What is a gate? What does it mean to "have a bad gate" ?

22:57 to 23:10

25:28 to 25:42

And of course, if you like downhill races, hope you enjoy watching it.

Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate.

Hey, I wrote the password to below the link:

Here you go:

15:20 to 15:30
I ride a Norco Four Crosser and it is beautiful. The duallie suits this track so much,
i'm so glad im not on a hard tail.
(duallie=Dual Suspension bike - i.e. bike with both fron and rear suspension. Hardtail = a bike with no rear suspension, i.e. no suspension on the rear wheel).

22:00 to 22:27
She speaks so fast, I do not understand anything. Could you please transcribe what she says, please. :D
-> I knew I was going to have a bad gate (=bad start), so my intention was to go inside,
and then I saw Horakova and Jill Kintner go inside, so I kind of backed off a little bit, and I think Anneke saw what was going to happen as well so we both kind of swung wide and braked a lot and stayed out of trouble and just went around them when they crashed...
Interviewer: A little ladies luck?
Well, yeah, its good for me because I ride downhill a lot so the drifting turns really suit me
but like I said my gates were terrible so I'm pretty happy.

22:29 to 22:48
What is a gate? What does it mean to "have a bad gate" ? (Gate is the thing that is used for the start in 4 cross racing, like what you see in motocross as well. A bad gate is a bad start).

22:57 to 23:10
Yeah it was a pretty good gate but Graves was still faster than me, we got tangled on the first straight, then Roger came by I guess, well, he led, and then last turn he went too wide
and I saw a gap and I went for it, so...crazy.. (interviewer: happy?)....yeah, awesome...

25:28 to 25:42
Pretty tough, we just started our own deal and you know to get, just to have a clean run,
I'm stoked, you know. The track's great, the crowd is awesome, I was just having a good time coming down the hill, you know...

OK, hope that helps. Let me know if you STILL don't understand all the words... :D (not easy with all those accents and weird downhill language...).

Nice video, good thing I know spanish to understand everything those spaniards say.

Tacu, can we get a full ENGLISH translation of everything in that video then...? :D
Duuuuuude tell me a time segment and I'll do it, but no way jose I'm translating the whole vid  :p
Wow Iceman, that was great. You make my job so much easy now. Thank you very very much.

Just one thing. Please transcript what Caroline Buchanan says here:

22:29 to 22:48

24:10 > I knew I could do it today......what else does she say??

and lastly:

STEVE PEAT interview
from 29:28 to 29:40

That's all.

As for the Spanish riders. Give me some time and I will do an English version too.

Thanks everyone and hope you liked the video montage.

"watch my lines" means to be protective of the lane your riding, so other riders can not pass you

"really good starts..." meaning she's really quick out of the gate, the first portion of the course. but then, since she's not protecting her lines, other riders pass her.
Ok, perfectly clear. Thanks again.
OK, here you go:

22:29 to 22:48
Uhm I'm feeling pretty good, like happy with how I did, sort of, been doing a lot of BMX
lately, so, sort of, I've gotta watch my lines, I've got really good starts, really good
first straights, but just keep letting people through, so next race in Scotland I'll
sort of have my elbows out a bit more and protect my line. This is only my 4th worldcup

Sadly, the UCI schedule for 2010 does NOT include Vallnord (unless you know something we do not... ;) ). We all think they are idiots for reducing the number of rounds, AND Vallnord always seems cool so it would be a shame not to return...but here is the newly released schedule:

DHI - World Cup Round 1 - 16.05.2010 - Maribor (SLO)

DHI - World Cup Round 2 - 06.06.2010 - Fort William (GBR)

DHI - World Cup Round 3 - 20.06.2010 - Schladming (AUT)

XCO/DHI - World Cup Round 4 - 25.07.2010 - Champéry (SUI)

XCO/DHI/4X - World Cup Round 5 - 31.07-01.08.2010 - Val di Sole (ITA)

XCO/DHI/4X - World Cup Round 6 - 29.08.2010 - Windham (USA)

XCO/DHI/4X- WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - 31.08-05.09.2010 - Mt-Ste-Anne (CAN
