Hi folks,

Lately, I been struggling to fit a bottle cage with appropriate clearance on my V1 Ripmo.

Initially I had one on there that seemed to work well - kept the bottle on through chunk - but discovered the bottle I was using ( 21 Oz. Camelback Podium) was actually resting on the seat tube. Left a small mark, not a big deal but cause for concern. I couldn't adjust the cage further forward so I bought a Lezyne Side loader.

The Lezyne is better but there is barely enough clearance from the seat tube ( better than before though) despite adjusting the cage as forward as it will go. I also tried a smaller bottle and had about the same clearance.

I'm wondering what you guys are using for your V1 Ripmo's and your experience with bottle clearance. How much clearance is necessary? Thanks

I think Ibis has one on their site that works with all of their bikes.

Edit: yup. It’s pricy though.

There is a cheaper version that is made from a type of plastic. I might just order it.

I use Specialized Zee Cage. Works great and not too expensive. It's a side loader as well. It had enough adjustability so that my bottles don't contact the seat tube. I check it every now and then to make sure it hasn't slipped though.

Thanks. How much clearance does that give you? I ordered the Arundel Flip Flop today which isn't much either. Ibis sells the Carbon version on their site so it should be compatible.

There's enough room for my 26 oz. bottle in my size large frame. The cage can still be adjusted further away from the seat tube if needed, but it hasn't contacted that frame at all so I've just left it as is.

Thanks Driven! I appreciate the pics!
Although you have clearance, there is not much either.

I did contact Ibis and they are very adamant about Arundel. I'm expecting it any day now. Once I get it I'll post an update. I have a medium btw.

You're welcome and good luck. I'm sure it'll be great. It looks like there's not much room, but it's plenty. I can add more room by sliding the cage up, but I haven't had to. (y)
