Uzzi Ti Spring Weight Savings?

1038 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  forceyoda
Can any Uzzi VP owners out there confirm weight savings going from regular coil on DHX to titanium? How much weight do you actually save? Also, please list spring mfg.

Cheers.

you have to let us know what weight of spring your running?
do you know what ti spring you would likey go with? an obtanium ti will be a different weight then a RCS and so on.

a really rough guideline would be 200 grams, but savings can get higher then that.
Was just looking for rough guide. But I currently have a 400lb stock spring and it looks like I'll need 500lb. Also, I think DSP will be the easiest for me to get. Either way, ballpark half a pound seems fair?
that 400lb stock spring is pretty light actually at 400 grams. I'll bet going to a 500lb ti spring will not get you much in the way of weight savings, but the 500lb steel will be quite a bit heavier.

I think Dave hit the nail on the head here. A 500#x2.75 DSP spring is listed at just under 400 grams(sicklines has the 400x3.25 steel fox listed at 587)

Diverse(DSP) list all there spring weights.

I lloked at swapping out my steel vivid spring and it came out to around 150 grams of savings for $230. Not worth it to me.
