For those who will be racing in Utah in this summer's state DH series, we have tentative dates available now. Bountiful and Deer Valley are pretty much set in stone, Pomerelle and Brian Head are looking solid as well. If anybody is wondering why there are only 5 races in the series this year, you may have forgotten that we are also hosting two nationals this summer, one at DV and one at BH.

can you provide some insight as to what the Brian Head DH course is like?

Well, I can provide some as to what the course has been like in the past, I don't know for sure what's going to happen for the National, or what will happen to our normal two race courses as a result of the National. Typically, Brian Head is a pretty good mix of terrains. There is some fast open stuff, some fast single track, some huge bermed out corners, some totally flat, blown out corners, a couple of big table top jumps, a rock garden, and usually at least one fairly serious pedaling section (any pedaling is serious at 10,000 feet, I guess). Typically the only thing we don't have to worry about down there is mud, I think we've had two muddy events there since I started racing at BH in 1997.
