Gooseberry Mesa. This is the only ride where I've come close to using all the travel on the 575. I used about 4.5" up front and all except for about 1/4" of stroke on the shock. Even the downhill at Porc Rim or the drops on Slickrock didn't use up this much... The tough part about Gooseberry (and what sets it apart from the trails in Moab) is that there are a lot of very sharp turns right before a techie section so it's hard to build up speed to get over a problem. It's a lot like the first half of Moore Fun in Fruita if you did it clockwise. I should practice trials more.

on a 575 RP3 shock (7.875x2.0) there is at least 1/4" of the shaft that doesn't get used but it does get the full 2" of stroke.

a 7.5x2 RP3 on the other hand uses nearly all the shaft when fully compressed.

bust out the ruler to see if yer using all the travel.
