Hello Urban People!
Due to lack of participants last week I did a scouting day with Charles from Passion bike shop. We hit Notre Dame campus on Ralston. It was a good ride with some great moves, but definately lacked the variety of Stanford. So... this week it's back to Stanford. Please RSVP if you plan on coming so we know to wait for you. We have at least one person showing up at 7:30, so we may meet up at the big square with the rocks and gravel and stuff around 8. That gives train people time to roll to campus, and people who drive can park closer. Who's in for some urban fun?

I'm out. There's an actual trials ride in San Francisco on Tuesday night, so I am going to go check that out.

Next week I should be in.

BTW if you guys are going to scout stuff around Notre Dame, please give me a ring cause I live just a Biopace chainring's throw from there.

I'll be there and meet you guys on campus, unless someone new is coming who needs to be escorted to campus from the train station. I'll probably do the XC-style bombing ride through campus looking for new hits and drops and hitting all of the usual stuff.

I also found a pretty fun creek-ride over there, with 5' berms or so, that would be interesting to ride at night, and a new dirt jump someone built near Lauganita.

???

Went to the rock garden at 7, but never saw anyone, so I hit a solo-light-speed-wearing-all-black-turbo-tour-with-no-helmet through campus for a few loops, which was actually fun. what happened??

Hey Madzane,
Missed you last night. I hope you weren't waiting around for us somewhere. We hung out at the play rocks till around 8:30. There were 3 of us out, Me, Rich, and Bert. Good riding by all. Rich is still recovering from his tweeked ankle a couple of weeks ago, but you couldn't tell it by his riding. Bert has added a 180 bunnyhop off a wall to his repetoir. Me, I just rode around getting used to my new Preston. There is a new kicker on the dirt drop over near the lake. Bert built it right after the rain and it's really nice, but requires a bit more commitment. We all sessioned it for a while. Very smooth. Next week I should be free Tuesday or Wednesday.

No sweat. Speaking of building jumps, someone (us?) needs to rebuild a ditch-jump over on the south end of lauganita. it's only one jump and it's way out there, but it is bigger than the other ones and in my estimation fairly easy to hit. Here it is on the map map

It's in the exact middle of that picture, below the driving range, just to the right of the tree-line that connects the driving range to junipero serra. It would be great to session if we can hard-pack it up...
