I'm just wondering if it's possible to get a good used urban bike for around $600. What company should I look for? Pics would be great. :D

def go with the p series, i got my p2 for 630, but that was because of a cupon thing, i would def get one from a LBS because you get free service, most of the time, and you get to know them, the p1 is another good bke but its only got one speed so unless ALL your gonna do is urban or dj than thats fine but other than that i wouldnt ride it anywhere else

for 300 to 500 you could get a good used urban bike
what do you look out for in a used urban bike? seems like they'd get a lot of abuse?

anything in this price range that's under 30# ?

Under 30# urban bike is a bit of a stretch. A lot of people sell their bikes because they never use them. Not because they used them too much.
so what can I expect a decent urban bike to weigh?

yeah, that was my other thought - either they're trashed or they're covered in dust.

thanks man,

giant stp SS

750 for an amazing frame and a real good platform to start around, lots of room for upgrades and stuff.
don't want SS for this bike. I wanna be able to jump onto trail and such, but want a cheap hopping/manualing/wheelie/pump track bike.

$750's more than I wanna drop for it.

by the way, did Giant drop the lower and mid-level stp's? looks like it's a high end or ss. I've read good stuff (and lots of dissing too) about the stp.

thats cool

and yes they did drop the other STP's. im not sure why, but they just have the SS and standard out this year aswell as a frame set.

also, what kind of bad stuff have you heard about the stp?

and as far as weight, you can probally get it down to mid 30s. my STP with pretty much full saint (minus cranks) mtx rims and a pike is 32 so yeah its possible to get em pretty light
