Curious about the upside down mounted shocks I've seen on a few people Saltys. Do you need to get new reducers to do this? Is there any (noticable or hypothetical) performance improvement or is it just to be different?

In the Fox the only thing that you have to do is take out the reducers from one side on put in the other... Is supposed to perform the same

probably upside down for clearance reasons

I have clearance problems getting to the Float's air valve with my 3/4/5 rockers. I would like to put it upside down to fix this, but then I have clearance issues with the lockout lever on the shock.

I am guessing that the bikes you have seen with upside down shocks have just been to resolve clearance issues with the air valves.

All you need to do is swap the reducers from one end to the other to mount upside down.
