Looking to simply break the existing chain on a brand new NX equipped bike and replacing the derailleur with the AXS X01. Are the derailleur cages the same size so I can just replace the one link with a powerlock, or do i have to resize the chain?

Axs rd is different from nx. I think you need to use a different chain assuming if its shorter from your nx gs.

Sizing the chain is independent of the derailleur. It's done using the front chainring and largest cog and then counting links. If the chain was sized correctly for your current gearing/bike set-up, you should be okay provided you are not changing a cassette or chainring.

Ah, perfect! since i'm keeping the cassette and chainring, i can just re-use my chain. thanks for confirming!
