I've got a new bike coming in this week with Avid BB5 brakes with a Dart 3 fork. I was doing research on here last night and found the Alligator Serrated rotor and the positive reviews. I was planning to get a 185mm rotor to get some more stopping power in the front (I'm 5'10" 210lbs), and since the Alligator Serrated rotor got such good reviews I decided I wanted to get a 180mm for the front and a 160mm for the back. Which adapter do I need to order for a Dart 3/Avid BB5/180mm rotor? Also if I decide to pick up hydraulic brakes at some point will these rotors work well with them?

Thanks!

In another post it was mentioned that to fit a 180mm rotor that a shimano adapter would be needed, since the avid discs are 185mm and those adapters would not function. I'm not sure which to adapter is the correct one. I've searched quite a bit on the subject, but haven't found the answer.

Thanks,

alligator says the 180mm rotors are direct replacements for 185mm avid rotors, which would mean the avid adapters work.. but that doesnt make sense to me, you'd be missing 2.5mm of rotor area.

not a ton, but id rather use 100% of the rotor. i dont remember if there was a clear answer, id imagine using the hayes 180mm adapters would work best instead of avid 185mm.

The a2z one is basically just a longer bolt and spacers. Not sure if the bolts provided are quite long enough to pass through the spacers and the caliper and CPS stack.

Hope also makes a 180mm post mount to post mount adapter.
