Does anyone know if the cranks would be cross compatible? I need to replace my XTR cranks as there is a groove developing on the spindle (12000+ miles). My LBS have recommended a new XTR crankset, but also know tat I will be upgrading to the new frame in the next 6 months. So my question is would new 9100 XTR cranks suitable for the Ripley 2 fit the Ripley 4. I can't find any mention of chain lines for the Ripley 4 to guide me.

Both have the same 73mm threaded BB, so yes. Chain line can always be adjusted by BB spacers as well.

Thanks both, it was a question asked me by my LBS as I need a new crankset as my current XTR cranks have a groove on the spindle that is getting deeper and will break at some stage. The new 9100 XTR crank comes in two widths (boost and non-boost) so they want to know which size to get. IbisUK have told me that the boost cranks will work on the V2 and as you have pointed out it may involve messing around with the BB spacers to get a good chainline.
