I have a Carrera Centos13 that I last year I really like the feel of the bike and I am very comfortable on it, I think its an XC bike but I would like to make it into a kinda AM set-up, But would I be better off selling it (I would get around €250/$350 for it) and buying a bike for €550/$760, If I were to get upgrades I would spent about €300 and get: Second hand Rockshox, Second hand handlebars, New rear mech, New sprockets, New Nukeproof pedals.
Current upgrades: Clarks lock on grips, Sram chain

One of the better places to start when upgrading is new wheels. After that, I'd go cranks.

If you like the bike and it feels good, hang some new bits on it and see how you like it.

The tricky part is trying to decide to spend on your current bike and have it equal what a new bike might be, or just pick up a new rig.
