UPDATED: It's a no-go and dead end.
Hello Gents.
I am aware that it's a dicey prospect. I have time and patience to look for the 1-1/8 steerer and rear shock parts. There's a decent market here where I live.

Some data https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/bikes/mountain-bikes/lapierre-spicy-316-review/
Spicy 316 (2011)
Seat Angle 72
Rear Shock FOX Float R High Volume 216x63.5
Headset Type Alu S-Integrated Cartridge Tapered
Head Angle 67
Frame Material Aluminium
Fork FOX 36 Float R Open Bath 160mm White
Chainstays (in) 1112.5

I would like convert both front and rear to 200mm.

Exactly what rear shock/coil for the rear is where I'm having trouble and could use tips.

A worldwide cyclery or gmbn vid on YT said that 20mm extra travel in either direction is acceptable. Then of course there's the "your mileage may vary" trope that I'm currently willing to gamble with.

I ride for fun and have access to a really good DH park nearby. I simply feel like experimenting at least for the satisfaction, either way, of whether is is doable or not.

So I'm asking for any advice since I've never done this before and maybe even get convinced to just not bother.
So that's it. Thanks for any input!
