Sorry for the delay in posting an update.
To refresh your memories, I found corrosion under the paint on the lowers of my 2002 Duke. I called Rockshox asking what I should do and they offered to replace them. I just paid for shipping to the factory.
I got my fork back from Rockshox. The turnaround time was less than 17 days, that includes shipping time from and to my LBS. WOW!
They swapped out the corroded lowers with another set of red 2002 lowers. It was returned filled with oil and ready to install.
Before installing the disc brakes, I like to remove the paint where the callipers touch the disc tabs. When I did this on the old lowers, the paint chipped off easily
The new lowers' paint is alot tougher. I had to use an exacto knife to scrap it off. Then fine sandpaper to smooth it down. I belive this paint will last.
I had a very pleasant experience with Rockshox customer service. :D
