I'm 40 years old.last season was my first racing and I did very well as a beginner, this coming season I will move to sport.my problem is that after 20mn ,I lose energy for about 10/ 15 mn, then I perk up again .I eat and drink plenty, any suggestion for this season to sustain without dipping down. thank you

This year was also my first and found the same to be true. I found that I was not getting a hard enough warm up ride in. My last race required riding to the start. I pushed a little harder during this warm up and did not choose to "save myself".. with better results- I was steady .....slow.... but steady w/ no burnout.

A good warm up for 45 to 60 minutes. 20-30 minutes of easy riding and then do a few intervals and then some more riding. It’s a good time to check out your bike before the race and make any last minute repairs or adjustments.

Have a gel 5 minutes before the start.
