Well I can say that the Hayes Kit sucks. It comes with the fittings, hose and a squirt bottle instead of a syringe. You can see from the photo of the Alligator that it has syringes. So I would say go for that one. And you'll be able to help out your friends who have other brands.

Now one difference between the two is that the Hayes kit comes with DOT fluid and it looks like the Alligator doesn't. But if you are using Hayes brakes just go to a auto parts store and buy a bottle of DOT 3, 4, or 5.1 for a few bucks.

Thanks everyone. I think I will get the hayes for the attachments/hose and use an old syringe I found from some medication my dog was taking. The end of the syringe looks to be the same size as the tubing.

That should work. One tip is to use some small zip ties to hold the tubing onto the bleeder valve. I found the tubing that comes with the Hayes kit comes off easily, so I got some slightly smaller tubing at a hardware store and that works a lot better. I also bought a "flavor injector" to use as my syringe.

I use a flavor injector also. Both syringes in my Alligator Bleed Kit leaked and would allow fluid right past the rubber seals so the fluid would eventually get spilled out the top.
