I do a lot of XC riding, and have notice the Specialized Armadilo tyres are slipping ( front and rear & during heavy braking) about 3-5mm along the SUN RIMS dragging the inner tube with it.

This causes the a pucture near the valve as its under stress.

I have replace the rim tape with and adhesive 'gauze like' rim tabe to give the tube greater traction between the tube and rim. DIDNT WORK.

I have tested with 40 and 50 PSI. DIDNT WORK.

I have narrow it down to possibly having to purchase new rims with a deeper profile which might have greater surface area of the tyre on the rim. IS THIS IT?

Does anyone know about this problem, any recommendations woulf be really helpful

Talcum powder over the tube to reduce friction between the tube and the inside of the tire

AND

Hairspray all over the bead, it will stick to the rim and notably reduce your problem

PS: I think it's obvious, but before doing this you should thoroughly clean the rim, tube, tire bead,...

I stared a thread few days ago , I have exactly the same issue, I have try the powder and cleaning the rim , havent' try the hair spray theory, but I heard that getting a bigger tube than your standard one will solve the problem, haven't try that either , so still pending on results.
