Hello all,

I ride 2018 Merida One Forty 600 in bright green. Love that bike and I ride it everywhere.

It come with Maxxis Minion DHR 2, 27.5 x 2.6 on the front and Maxxis Rekon, 27.5 x 2.6 as rear tyres. Love the combo for riding everywhere but I want something more enduro/downhill focused.

What's the best way to swap up tyres? Should I take DHR2 off and put on rear and get new DHF on the front? Or Just get high roller 2 as rear tyres?

What's other 2.6 tyres combo out there you recommend?

Ah, i kept losing rear wheels over rocks. Thinking of getting proper rear tyres with beefy knobs to keep in control

I would put a new DHR on the front and put the current DHR on the back. There is also the SE5 in 2.6.

That's the way to go imo. DHF 3C up front and DHR2 to the back

Other then that, I can always leave DHR on the front and just take HR2 Dual for rear to save money?

My Pivot Mach 5.5 came with the Minion DHF in the front and the Maxxis Rekon in the rear.

The Minion DHF is the best front tire I have ever ridden. I'll take the small weight penalty any day to get the awesome cornering traction of these tires.

I never liked the Rekon on the back. Always seemed like a miss-match to me. They never had great traction (climbing, braking, cornering) to match the DHF. Then I got a cut in the tread. Not impressed.

I tried the Maxxis DHR 2 on the back. It was overkill for me, and did not seem to be the best complement to the DHF. Tire was a bit slow.

Then I went to the Maxxis Aggressor in 27.5 x 2.5WT. Wow, that tire offers climbing traction, great braking, and is a great complement to the DHF.

I have been riding this combo for quite a while now and am very satisfied.

Ah Never heard of that tyres, it seem a bit low knobs but it does the job when you ride at say, bike park with big berms and jumps? Ride over any rocks?

Does it ride fast and roll fast?
