I ordered a bunch of stuff for my singlespeed, including a 15 and 17 rear cog. When I picked them up, they gave me two 15 tooth. I pointed out the mistake, but they didn't have any more Surly's in stock, so they gave me a Chris King instead for the same price. $20 versus $42.

How 'bout that for good customer service?

I demo'ed bikes for almost 2 hours on Saturday. Chris and the Speedgoat crew are the best.

My 6 YO son watched videos and played their PS2 while I tested one amazing bike after another.

I will definately purchase from them ( when I make my mind up!!! )

I ordered brake levers from Speedgoat Monday, ground shipping means I get them next Tuesday but I wanted to have them before weekend. I chose 3 day select, true enough I got them Thursday. I live in California.

I have had several good experiences with them where they went out of te way to make the customer happy. I will consider them for my next new bike purchase.

Just today I ordered some tires and skewers from then. They were not the cheapest price online and I know they have those 'price match' icons but I didn't use them. For the good service they offer and the free shipping, I didn't mind paying $10 extra one bit.

not to bring down the party...
I wouldn't say I won't shop there again, or recommend, BUT, I placed an order from them around last fall, quite a few parts as I was finishing a build. anyway, I don't remember the shipping being that spectacular, and it was just to MI from PA, but that's not my complaint, I'm not that impatient anyway...
but, out of the 7 or so parts I ordered, three were wrong. Mistakes happen, but 3? well, the Salsa SS sprocket was the wrong bolt pattern (5 instead of my 4), the grips were the ODI Ruffian, not the Ruffian MX I had ordered, and worst of all, since I needed it, was the Dangerboy stem was for a 25.4 bar, not the 31.8 that I ordered. And all of the correct parts were listed on the reciept. I'm assuming the person packaging or selecting parts was just new or thinking about his own bike instead of mine, haha.
I called them, just wanting to get it resolved, and the guy was so nonchalantly blowing it off that it made me pretty unsatisfied, rather disappointed. it was like he just heard 10 other orders like that and was not surprised. after some talking, he said, just keep the grips and he would refund the price, even though they were the wrong ones... and had me ship back the chainring and the stem, and return shipping was SO SLOW! I kept calling and they had not processed the exchange yet even though they had the package.... pretty frustrating.
so, I did get some $13 grips for free, even though they were wrong, plus a Loooong wait, and a pretty unapologetic operator. I was not refunded for original shipping or anything, but at least I did not pay for the return.
so sounds like this was their rare horrible occurence for the season (hopefully), and it just happened to me, since I hear so many other good things about them...
anyway, just thought I'd post that... good luck with your orders, things happen sometimes, sometimes to you...

Super rare. Every shop makes mistakes, and every shop can have a bad day, but it sounds like your main complaint was that they were not very apologetic and a bit slow in the transaction.

But they did fix your problem, while throwing in some free gear to boot. That is a ton better than 90% of mail order out there, and far far far better than the LBSs that try to run mail order.

I've used Speedgoat for 2 bike builds now - random parts, a Santa Cruz frame, and lots of questions. They have made a mistake here and there, but they always fix it, and are straight up in their dealings.

Example: I found out Chris King was raising prices on their headsets last year, so I quickly placed an order for one, along with a frame. I changed my mind on the frame as I waited for it to be built, so the order took a while to ship (a month) and by then CK had implemented the price increase. Speedgoat honored the original price, despite shipping much later and probably having to pay the new dealer cost for the headset, no questions asked.

There are times I used Jenson or Pricepoint, if they have particularly good deals, but buying from Speedgoat is supporting an LBS, and a good one at that.
