I just got a new 2019 Specialized S-Works Epic this spring, which came with SRAM Level Ultimate brakes. The front brake hose was a little long for my liking, so I shortened it. During this process I noticed that it did not have a Stealth-a-majig barb and olive, nor did it say "Stealth-a-majig" on the lever. Ok.

But then just for kicks I pulled off the rubber sleeve on the rear brake to find that it did in fact have "Stealth-a-majig" printed on the lever! Huh? Has anyone seen this before? Is there any particular reason why a new bike would have a different brake lever on the rear vs. front? Both seem otherwise identical.

The 'Stealth-a-majig' setup is used on rear brakes, it's supposedly easier if you have to do internal hose routing.

Both levers will work exactly the same.

And you can use Stealth-a-majig fitting on both.
