Hive mind. We have two days in Charlottsville/Harrisonburg Area and want to ride.

What are the two must ride routes!!??? I pulled a few from the interwebs......looking for the local knowledge! I realize i should probably be staying in Harrisonburg but the group wanted a bigger town vs the smaller town ;(. I lost that battle.

Western Slope is currently closed except Sundays, through the end of the year. It's hunting season in the National Forest, so make sure you've got some blaze orange if you ride there.

Reddish knob is sure to please.

Figure 8 of hate is fun/slow/technical riding. Depends on if your group is in for a day of suffering. A great highlight that won't demoralize as much is Signal Knob - Meneka Peak - Bear Wallow Loop Mountain Bike Trail, Strasburg, Virginia

That's about where my knowledge ends, lol.

Haven’t done Reddish but Bear Wallow down (part of figure 8 of hate) is my favorite all time descent (3.5 miles and roughly 2k feet) and you can let it rip almost the whole way (after the first section).

Can do the BW up and down in less than 90minutes and it’s not the trials hell that Signal Knob, Tuscarora or much of the rest of Figure 8 is. Can easily add sections for more distance but I wouldn’t take anyone to EF who doesn’t know what it is and has signed up for the hike-a-bike/trials mess.

Thanks so far! We’re in for such a short amount of time I think the most brutal trails are not what we want……tech is ok.

Nearly impossible chunk “but ridable if on your game” is not optimal for this trip…….

Great ride today- did narrowback to len to wolf. nice! amazing DH off the back of narrowback and the wolf DH was an 11!

So is Massanutten western slope REALLY closed on saturday? or just not sanctioned but ridable?

If we park off of coal road at sherando.....we still need to do the blue loop to get back to the car? is there a ride around thats on trail not road?
