Yep that is about it. 3.9" of travel with RP23 and Spot tubing for strength and rigidity. 4 sizes, 17 19 21 23 Don't have a name yet.
DT
How about RE-FLUX :p :D

Maybe have a naming contest in the 29'er forum. I'm sure a lot of them would love to particpate.

How about the "Fad", or maybe the "Bandwagon", or the "XLCS" (extra long chain stay).

Or how about "Taking DT away from designing the Rail", i like that name.

I just don't get the 29" thing, why anybody would want a bike with a higher BB, longer wheel base and longer chain stays is beyond me.

JNC,
I gotta admit. You made me google that one.
I thought niners were a dumb idea until I started riding one. Now I'm jiggy wid it.
....no doubt, the ones I've ridden so far have been fun...different for sure, but fun none-the-less. I am currently deciding which entry level HT to pull the trigger on to tide me over until the "Pyrite" is available :D

PS. "Pyrite" was more of a jab at the recent Turner "love-fest" thread on the 29er board....it's all good. Bikeys is cool

Take a look at the Salsa. Lot of bike for the money. Larry is a Salsa dealer and would get you a great price.
I also like the niner bikes: www.ninerbikes.com

Think about going SS. It's another idea I thought was dumb until I got into it. Truth be told, I'm riding my niner SS more than my Pack these days.

There is no reason for the BB to be any higher on a 29er than on a 26 inch mtb.

In fact, relative to the wheel axle, the BB is lower on a 29er. How that feels in the real world I have no idea, as I have not yet ridden one. Just thinking about the proportions here.

...the mariachi is a sweet looking SS HT, I was also considering the Sir9 as that would allow me to swap from geared to SS & back. I ride the Evil Sovereign as a SS alot & it's a fun configuration....not sure I would want a frame that was limited to ss tho ('specially a 29er). I was hoping to buy a complete bike (raleigh XXIX) cheap from the LBS...too many different options coming up in the next month or two. I think I'll just wait it out til Aug or so & see what surfaces. Either way, I will likely swap everything over to the Turner[29] & start the bling build come spring

...the guy with this raleigh lives in my city. I have tooled around on it & it is an impressive riding bike for the money.
