Forget training, get out and ride no matter how short it is. Just do a bit more each day. The enjoyment of the outdoors will do more for your fitness than a dull trainer.Mancunian Lee said:

IIve currently spent the last two years getting over an illness and im very unfit and over weight nowi want to relive my passion for MTB but because my fitness is low i cant!! so i think i need to train at home, but all the turbo trainers i can find all seem to be geared up for a road cycle and not an MTB.
i dont have an MTB at the moment though, i was hoping to buy one and train at home untill im well enough to do it properly, is this my best option or would i be best with a very cheap road cycle and turbo trainer and sell the cycle when im ready to get out on an MTB?
im a softie mate, hot weather only for nowpacman said:Forget training, get out and ride no matter how short it is. Just do a bit more each day. The enjoyment of the outdoors will do more for your fitness than a dull trainer.
