Tulsa racing -- Keystone

I may be in Tulsa in June. Was wondering what people can tell me about Keystone? Is it a fun course? My wife will be in tulsa longer than me so I was thinking of sending my rigid single speed with her and keep my nice bike in Boise for other stuff. Sound smart?

brilliant, i've ridden keystone a bit and like it a lot, rocky and rooty. I try to ride Turkey Mt twice a week when it's not muddy, closer (in city limits) and something for everybody. Fun day trip/overnight rides over in NW Arkansas to be had also.

Keystone is a fun course; not lots of climbing and super tech. Tech skills will outweigh fitness and offer a better ride if you've got 'em!
would single speed be? Sounds like it would work fine since minimal climbing? Or am I likely to spin out on lots of flats?

Is it abusive technical where full suspension is highly beneficial?
to me it is for sure very rocky! F.S big advantage.
keystone

it will beat you up on a rigid bike.the creek bottoms are especially bad.
Abusive technical would be the perfect description of Keystone. 98% ride-able with good skills and right gear. One climb on the expert loop may be too much to clean. It is difficult on a geary. Not to worry about spinning out as there are no flats. Limited climbing is deceiving. Although there are no true long climbs there are numerous short technical ones that wear you out. Most guys run a 32x20 on a 29er. I wouldn't want to bring a 26er to this race...
Sounds like a fun course. Guess I'll bring my full sus bike. I'll have to suffer with 26" ;) I'm sure I can borrow something for any races here and train and play on my single speed.
soggy right now though.probably ridable in the next few days

AlliKat - we have some Demo bikes from Niner (RIP9s currently, JET9s when they become available) we would be happy to let you take one out to Keystone....can probably talk someone from the shop into being a tour guide too! Look us up when you get to town
