Tucson bike rental

Traveling to spend the holidays with my in-laws in Tucson. Considering a ride, so where's the place to rent a bike? I prefer full-suspension.
Also, any local trail suggestions are welcome. I'm a happy intermediate trail rider who enjoys technical stuff, but definitely not a freerider. Thanks.

last time i was at fair wheel bikes they had a bunch of giant trances outside. i'm thinking they are for rent. the place is pretty centrally located, right across the street from the university. good local place, though they can be a bit grumpy if you catch them on an off day in my experience.

Though I have never rode anything in Tucson, I've heard that Fantasy Island is in Tucson itself, making it a quick destination to go to.
We rent bikes and gear

We rent bikes - Cannondale full suspension. Only small, large, x large available December 26 and 27, all sizes the rest of the week. We also have a variety of 661 Protective Gear available, should you require.

We're located a couple miles from the 50 Year Trail System trailhead. (We actually ride right from here…) It is a good, extensive system with a variety of challenges and skill levels.

It's on the SE side of town... plenty of trails, fun roller coaster, tight singletrack, about 18-20 miles. There's been some big ass cows on the trail lately... few bulls. LOL had one chase me. Keep an eye out.

Fairwheel is near the university. Performance Bike is in town as well, not too far away from Fairwheel. Arizona Bike Experts is OK as well. Don't think they rent. First two are the better mountain shops in town.

FYI Tucson is more of a roadie town, Phoenix more mtn.

Pay attention to signs on the trail. Don't want to run into folks by riding the wrong way.

Technically you need a permit to ride/park there but I have yet to see someone on the trail checking for them...

I used a mobile rentals service to rent some road and mountain bikes while in Tucson and the Green Valley. Go to Bike Tucson AZ at biketucsonaz.com. They rent Specialized and Trek I think.
^^ Holy crap, I was just about to respond with the rentals I used a couple weeks ago when I saw the date!
I was gonna chime in to warn them not to ride Fantasy Island when they come here. Its not Tucson riding at all and is boring but I guess I dont need to.

I mountain biked all over Tucson including Fantasy Island. I would put it at the end of the list given limited time for a vacation. It's a good place for someone who's never ridden a mountain bike off road. Funny thing is after riding all over chunky stuff, Fantasy Island was the only place I saw a rattle snake.

Do you know what it is? Looks pretty menacing to me.
