After a year of use (and mild abuse) this is how it looks, I only use it in the rear wheel, 27.5 Schwalbe Rocket Ron Snakeskin 2.25 on 26 mm ID carbonfan, a couple of flats only through that time, riding in mixed terrain with some rocky singletrack, dirt roads and some paved roads to get to the trailheads.

So worth it? What sealant do you use?

Sure, I replaced it inmediatly with another one.
I'm using Caffelatex, the only problem I've had is with the valve, it doesn`t let the air go out that easy, the insert tends to block the airway, I think I could use the valves with the airport on the side, but...I don't think it's worth it.

I enjoyed it on my xc bike when trying to get those pressures as low as you can. The valve thing was annoying. I actually had a sidewall cut so nasty it sliced clean through the insert. I guess they provide a little protection but I ended up leaving it out when I installed new tires... -58g. If I feel compelled for another insert I'll be going back to the gaudy 150g Taintanus armour.

A Meganorris isn't comparable though. It's 200g. That's comparable to Cuschcore pro. Tubolight's are under 100gs each. I have the super XC ones on my XC bike and the slightly heavier one on the front of my enduro bike. I like them. They aren't comparable to Cushcore Pro's or Tannus Armor tubeless, but they do add a little something that I like.

i just struggled to prove that my tubolight did anything. I've got the dreaded pin hole punction, right near the bead, on the rear in all formats( without inserts, with the tubolight even with the tannus). If your pressure is too low and you ride rocks you can still flat. My view of the insert was always that it might not save you from that puncture but once you have punctured you are probably going to smash another rock at speed with low tire pressure before you notice it / can stop.... for me the insert is there to save you arse from smashing your rim into bits on that NEXT hit. I can't say the tubolight pool noodle will do anything. Also with something like a tannus you can ride it home, can't do that with a tubolight.

TL;DR I don't think the tubolight accomplishes my top ask of a tire insert

I had the same experience as tbellrun. I just couldn't tell it was doing anything. It was also leading to clogged valve stems often because it rotated almost immediately and the cutout wasn't over the valve stem. I did four rides and took it out; the cut out was on the other side of the tire. The tire was hard to get off. Yeah, other inserts are heavier but at least they work.
