Didn't know if tubeless tires needed a special rim or not. Can I run em on my 11 year old SUN TL18's?

Yes you can....

but only with tubes. UST tires can only be run tubeless on UST rims or rims that have been converted to run tubeless with something like a Stans No Tubes kit. Otherwise on a regular rims they must be run with tubes like any other tire.
