I've been in town since the begining of August and 99% of my riding has been T-100 and connected trails so I decided last month that I would ride new trails every weekend through the end of December and only ride T-100 during the week. Last weekend was out due to a broken axle. This weekend I did Pemberton Trail on Saturday and even though it's not very tough I had a total blast. Yesterday was Desert Classic and it was ok up until ~mile 4 when I broke a spoke. Next weekend I'm shooting for White Tanks and Estrella. Christmas weekend is a three day and I'm shooting for Hawes, Pima & Dynamite, and I'm not sure what else for Christmas day. I need something close to home and fairly short(it'd be Christmas day after all), Papago would be ideal if it wasn't for the fact that I've ridden it, is there anything else in town that is so short it often gets overlooked? I'm not opposed to a 1-2 mile loop that I can do a few times.

T-bird park at 59th ave and happy valley has a few short loops, lots of up and down, some fun switchbacks. There's also some pretty tech descending on 4 mile loop trail and across the road there's a hike-a-bike loop that has some pretty difficult descending. It's my local ride, and while it's not my favorite, if you're cataloging everything in Phoenix, and you're fairly close, it might be worth doing.

I don't know where else you have ridden, but what about the obvious? South Mountain. Personnally my favorite trails XC to DH and all points inbetween. Try it you'll like it!
