I have an 04 Heckler and it is about time to swap out the swing arm bearings. Is there a place that builds bearings, that will out perform and out last the bearings that come from Santa Cruz?

Just take note of the number on the side of the bearing and go to your hardware store and get the same bearing but from a brand like:

NSK
SKF
Timken / Fafnir / Torrington
NTN

Or any bearing made in Sweden, Germany, Japan, US, Mexico or Chzec Republic (in that order).

A real improvement would be to get the Full-Complement version of that bearing with contact seals on both ends (contact seals are designated by NTN as suffix "LLU", SKF as "2RSH").

Those might get expensive (30-40 USD maybe??) but will be a real improvement in life.

The "Full-Complement" feature means there is no cage for the balls inside the bearings and a larger quantity of balls. That results in a higher load capacity.

The contact seals will prevent water and dust to go in while keeping the grease inside.

Good Luck!!
