Was thinking of in and out riding the TRT from Spooner to Kingsbury. Which direction would be more of a climb so we can head that direction first?

How does this section compare to MtRose to Spooner? Or should we head toward another section of the TRT. We'll be hitting Toads and x-mas valley on a seperate day.

Anyone have a status report on the Mt.Rose/Tahoe Meadows snow pack? I heard there is a way around it.

Spooner to Kingsberry & back is one of my favorite ride. There is a long climb if you start at Spooner so i would plan on going that direction then ride back...You will love it!

Even though I hate that initial five mile climb, I still start from Spooner because you get the long downhill at the end and you can climb while it is cool. I plan on doing that Saturday. Mt. Rose to Spooner via the Flume is easy and the few snow patches I encountered Tuesday were nothing and should be gone in a few days anyway. Mt. Rose - TRT to Spooner is easier than Spooner- Kingsbury but much harder than going down Flume. Photos from this week here: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=632981

Here is somebody's ride, check out the initial climb.
