I'm sipping a double mocha recovering from a big ride yesterday. Mt. Rose to Kingsbury on the TRT, then down to south Tahoe to home. About 40 miles and 5K elevation. It was a perfect day for a ride and the trail is in top shape! No snow anywhere, and the trail is clean and dust free. That ride is pretty hard, though, and I have to give HUGE props to anyone who has attempted or completed the Mt. Rose to Toads ride! Just the thought of climbing another few thousand to Star Lake after getting to Kingsbury would make me cry like a little baby. Hope you all had a great 4th o' July weekend, Tahoe always delivers the goods and this weekend was no exception!

Until tomorrow evening. Considering another ride, but I now have a blown out RS Lyric. Made the descent into Kingsbury a little interesting! We need to plan something with Ben and crew. We always have a place to stay...

The time is now isn't it? Been meaning to git some all year long. Anybody got a recommendation for places to camp(quiet)/stay(cheap) in the south or north shore?

I might go it alone this year. Everyone in my local crew seems pre-occupied and you folks are still waaay too fast for me.

What seems to be the problem Kyle? Don't own a digital camera? ;)

Different section of TRT, rode the loop from Spooner, up to TRT, down to Flume and back, twice (Friday and Sunday again with RJ)

Wow you guys are studly...

I rode TRT this last weekend, did the ride from Benjamin North to the Bench and back. I thought about riding to Spooner but I got lazy That section's really nice because there's nobody on it. It's definitely more fun in the southerly direction IMHO.

I also did the climb from Fountain/Oneidas parking area up Armstrong to Toad's. I think that's 3000 vertical feet. I was pretty damn worked afterwards and I think that's only 19 miles. I only mention it because not sure how you guys did Mt. Rose to Kingsberry, let alone do Toad's afterwards. All I can say is that I'm impressed.

I cheat my wife shuttles me up Armstrong to the trail then I ride from there to saxon creek trail. I assume I might be doing it with a hangover since I am at the casino right now.

After doing the climb from big meadow to toads I realized I really need a lighter wheelset; the 823's just is not cutting it for climbing but they do take the abuse going down. Toads was fun but was really loose and dusty compared to last year when I rode it.
