I'm building a commuter road bike and want to use a triple front derailleur to save money (it's a spare). As long as I have a double front shifter there should be no problem with a front triple derailleur, right?

The setup: Shim. 105 double shifters, 6503 ultegra front D, and Ultegra double crank set/rings.

yep should work ok, assuming you can wind your low stop in far enough...if you can't, then set the low stop point via cable tension....its the other way around thats problematic.
