Weight/quality of bike doesn't have much to do with the ablility to trackstand a bike..... unless things are loosey-goosey. Don't know what "other things" you're trying to do..... weight will be a factor in popping the front wheel up, bunny hopping, and just being able to throw the bike around, in general.

Also, don't expect a dept store bike to last very long doing trials type stuff with it. The components won't hold up when you start doing more abusive/high-impact trials stuff.

wieght shouldn't be too bad of an issure i ride a 35ish pound P2, but careful trying anything too crazy on that bike cuz you'll end up breakin it. trials stuff can be pretty brutal on a bike.

another consideration that can play a role in bunnyhopping and stuff is geometry of the bike. I can hop my 30 something pound bmx bike like over 2.5 feet but my 24 pound XC bike i can't really get over 1-1.5 feet. The XC bike is just not that great for getting massive hops for me atleast. I perfer my heavier P2 or my bmx bike over my much lighter XC bike.
