I wanted to maybe check out the new features of Trestle one of the days im not at Sol Vista this weekend but I saw last weekend there was still quite a bit of snow.

Is it really gonna open? How muddy are we talking?

Ah... maybe it'd be better to wait.
yeah im waiting. No since paying full price for half a mountain. lol
I haven't seen any mud at Trestle but I haven't been this season. I should be out there this weekend and will report back on the conditions.

I thought opening day was the 13th? Any report on the trails? Not going to drive up if they are all mud.
That's a lot of rental bikes, wow.

Btw, the trail "shyann" is spelled Cheyenne, FYI

Not any more... It's now called Shy Ann. I know, I made the trail signs.
How's the mountain. We rode SV saturday and are sitting in a hotel room in WP. Do we ride WP tomorrow or back to SV? Help us decide!
Still some snow a the top (and on parts of the trail) and very muddy at the bottom. Dry spots in exposed parts of the trails. I was at WP today. If it's dry at SV I would stick with that. Hope this helps.

It was pretty muddy yesterday. Here is a big snow drift on Shy Ann. Bike Park Dude was digging through the snow so it may actually be ridable (but muddy) today. They put down wood boards on the really muddy spots.

Here is the bike after 3 runs to give an idea of how much mud was kicked up.

Oy the root that got me.slide into home - bike is how it was ... on Twitpic

I had a lot of fun but some people were complaining that it was too muddy and too little open.

Was there on Sunday and we saw the new sign. We thought it was pretty sad. I take it the "PC Police" got to you guys huh?

They cut a trail throught that giant snow pack, it was actually kinda cool riding through it. We had fun, but I'm sure next weekend will be better. Still too much closed, and too much mud and such.
I was thinking about going up there fri. or sat. cause my buddy wants to get a bike so he can go ride but he does not wanna pay brand new price. So i figured they have some of the old rentels on the web site for sale so we might go check it out. Do you think it will be open on the top of the mountain and less muddy?
think I'll stick with SV for now..that mud doesn't look like a whole lotta fun..
The Trails dried up quickly for sunday, thankfully they got out there with plywood on the nasty muddy sections.

Yeah, the snow cut was fun to burn into... slide a little and you're a pin-ball in a small channel of snow.

Trails were flowy, I was impressed with what Long Trail has turned into (bermed and flowy)... we need these types of trails around! Nice and welcomed change from the relentless rock gardens at SV and Keys.
