Hey guys I came across a really good deal on a Trek Session 10. Its a size Medium. I bought it basically if it fit me great but if I didn't I could get a friend into dh/freeriding for very cheap.

My other bike is a Kona Coilair size 18in. I use that for everything, freeride/downhill and cross country. Its a good (yet heavy) all around bike that I can thrash on. I'm about 6' 1'' and around 190lbs. I like the size of my Kona because of its versatility but at times I wish it was a bit smaller for some downhilling and freeriding. I have been told that you want a smaller bike for downhilling.

My question is what do I look for in a bike to see if the sizing is right for a dh bike. I'm kind of a bigger guy and I was wondering if any of you guys in my size range ride a medium. This is my first time on an all out dh bike so maybe i'm just not use to the angles yet. Let me know your thoughts.

Thank You

Well to answer my own question the bike rides awesome. The bike feels greats, gaps to fast downs. I went from a 2008 Kona Coilair and I couldn't be happier with the feel. Its a lot more stable in than air than my Coilair.

Sweet! I always liked the look of those session 10s. Don't get too hung up on sizing for DH bikes.... I'm 6' tall and ride a small session 77, and it's just fine. I prefer a more compact frame, and the last thing I worry about is pedaling the thing.
Ha! I'm 5'10 and just built up a Session 77 frame, sized Medium. I just hope that when I cut off my seatpost and drop the saddle down, the thing ends up being small enough for some bigger gravity runs. Right now it feels more like a heavy AM/Shore bike that you've got to pedal around to the fun stuff on.

O ok cool. Yah it was my first all out dh bike. How do you like your 77?

The 77 has been a great bike.

Dammit that is one sweet looking berm-on-wood. I wish I could get my hands on dirt like that...building trails around here pretty much comes down to trying to convince sand and various small rocks to magically bond together in some kind of berm shape, and then hold up long enough to get a few runs done lol...

Nice pics.

Sittingduck, those picks and video are AWESOME! Any of those recent? It's always cool to see someone else ripping stuff up on the same bike (frame) that you have.

I can't wait to get the Totem coil and the DHX 5 dialed in on my 77. Hopefully racing CAT-3 DH at the World Cup Final in Windham, NY with the beast end of the month. It's only 45 minutes from me. WAHOO!
