I got my 6yr old the 20" Roscoe fatty. I noticed the brake levers are a pretty far reach for his hands. I tried adjusting them, but maybe I missing something. Short of giving him my XTs and me getting the new XT 4 pistions. What are my other options?

I've found the Shimano Deore hydraulic brakes to have a nice short reach compared to mechanical systems, that would be an inexpensive option unless you really want those 4-piston XTs (which are really nice!).

Are those V brakes and do the levers have reach adjustment screws? They're usually grub screws protruding from the perch between the cable and bars. Turn those in and they position the levers closer to the grips. You'll need to adjust the brakes appropriately afterward.
