I'm ready to purchase a new bike. I've narrowed it down to these two. I just want to know which one is more durable or strongly built. Especially framewise. Thanks. By the way, this is my first post although I come here to read and learn often.

More durable? I'd have to go w/ a Enduro.. especially if your talking about the SX model.
Its like a mini Demo.

Those are both very good bikes, but I'm gonna keep harping on one negative issue I have with the Enduro until everyone is sick of it...and I hope Spec gets sick of it first. Spec used a proprietary shock desgn on those Enduro models. Their DHX shocks have no schrader valve for the boost chamber tuning, a very important and valuable issue on a DHX shock...air or coil. There are also some length and stroke oddities in the shocks for some of the Enduros, like the 8.75 X 2.5 applications...but it does sound like a few have installed an 8.75 X 2.75 shock on their Enduros...but you still can't access the boost valve pressure without removing the shock.

We sell both Trek and Spec at our shop, and I own 2 older Enduros that I like very much. But Spec ought to have its fingers slammed in the door for choosing this shock setup. I think they could have easily, at their point of manufacture, have installed a 90-degree valve or a hosed remote for the boost chamber, and the length stroke issue could have been resolved with a different shuttle. I was going to do an employee deal on an '05 Enduro and just replace that 5th Air that was on it, but alas, this shock issue killed that idea. The '06 models at least have better shocks, but still that limited tuning issue is present.

If the ability to fine tune your suspension isn't a big issue, then perhaps all of this is a non-issue. Otherwise both very good bikes.

I own the 06 Enduro Expert, and it's amazing. Yeah, you can't tune boost valve, but the shock feels fine to me.

Lets see, Fox 36 is amazing fork, Fox DHX Air compliments it perfectly, Avid Juicy's, 2 rings up front with chain guide - can't go wrong.

I'd also reccomend the enduro, don't worry about that boost valve too much, spesh has worked it out spot on as far as I can tell. If you ever (and I doubt it) wanted to change the settings you could always ask fox to do it.....Or whether Push are going to do something with it?

I've got the 06 Enduro Expert - exactly what I was looking for. Awesome bike - great all around ride.
A note on the suspension. It just takes time to get dialed in the way you like it. It can be a litte frustrating at first but just keep riding and tweaking and count the clicks on things like rebound, propdeal etc.. There are a few good threads in the specialized forum that give some guidance on peoples experience with the shock setup. For the first couple of weeks i just stuck mostly to trails i knew really well - I carried my shock pump with me and just played - riding and re-riding particular sections and changing the setup until i found the sweet spot for me.
the bike is crazy fast and smooth - the brakes are amazing once burned in. With the enduro you can change the shock shuttle and give it a steeper head angle if you prefer - so the options are endless

I'm very happy with mine

I have the Spesh so you can count me as biassed if you like, but to me there is little comparison between the two.

The Spesh is a four-bar bike with the Horst Link, which is why Spesh bought the patent. If you ride the Spesh back to back with the Trek (faux-bar, seatstay pivot) you will see exactly why people love genuine four-bar bikes. The traction at the back is superb, relatively unaffected by braking and/or pedalling. The ride feel is so neutral you can just get on with pushing it as hard as you can......

There is a difference between FSR-link four bars and seatstay pivot bikes (faux-bars).

As for the rest of the bikes, well, the Spesh frame is superbly made, with lifetime warranty (that I have used in the past with Spesh on my 02 model, no problems there) Fox 36s are awesome forks and the rest of the finish kit on a bike is to taste - so that's your call.

I love mine. I personally would say that the only other models comparable in ride quality out there at the moment would be the Nomad, the Reign and the original Turner 6-pack/RFX (the one with the Horst Link - before Spesh made him drop the design).

But everyone's tastes are different - both are certainly good bikes.....
