I actually have been trying to search from Trek website the right bike size for my height which is 5'11" but I couldn't seem to locate it. I would like to know from the experience of people whether an 18.5 size HT trek 8500 would be good for me?
your height alone isn't enough to suggest a frame size. 3 guys in my riding group are 6' to 6'4" and all ride 19" Trek or GF. Our inseams are under 34" and we prefer a slightly smaller frame.
Paragon 29er standover for a 19" frame is 31" but given the angled top tube, sliding forward a couple inches increases the standover to maybe 32" or more...
for the 8000, the standover height doesn't change much from a 18.5 to a 19.5, so standover height is less of an issue.
If you have long legs and a short torso you may prefer a different frame size than a person of the same overall height but short legs and a longer torso and arm reach.
a stop at your LBS and try a bike is your best bet.
