I am looking to upgrade to disc soon. I am ordering some Sun Rhyno Lite wheels and they use a 6 bolt disc. Can you recommend me some brakes that aren't too expensive. Mech or Hydro is fine. Obviously I'd have to do some upgrading for hydro but if I get mech, can I keep my current lever set?

You should be able to use any mechanical disc caliper that is not intended for use on road bikes. Shimano, Avid and Tektro all work well, BB7 is by far the favorite mechanical setup. I would also suggest buying a good cable and housing when you change to disc, it will make a big difference in brake performance.

Used calipers and rotors are not too difficult to find either.
