if you go for a 66RC, you can travel adjust is for 6-7"....same with the JrT but will require a seperate spring kit and the damping isnt nearly as nice.

Slider would be certainly one of the cheaper options. I know that newish/used 04 Slider+ are going for anywhere from $200-500 online.

so i would be better of with a slider rather than a 66

Yup! And in reply to if your fork is to high, it will throw all or your steering off and instead of making your bike super comfortable it will make it scary to ride and very weird steering.
