Trance X0 and X4 differences (besides components and shock)

I recently built up a Jamis Dakar XLT 3.0 frame. The more I see the Trance X the more I want one. With that said, are there any differences between the frames of the X0 and X4? The reason I ask is most retailers want approx. $1500 for an X0 frame alone. If the frames are the same, I can purchase an X4 for less than $1500, swap all the parts, and have a custom built Trance X and an extra bike that I can sell to recoup some of the money spent.

Components on my current bike are as follows:

-Rockshox Pike 426 Coil U-turn
-WTB Team Internal Cartridge Bearing Headset
-Hope Pro II Disc hubs (20mm front) w/ Mavic XM819 wheels (ChainReactionCycles built)
-Shimano XT Casette 9-speed M770
-SRAM X.9 trigger shifters
-X.9 medium cage rear derailleur
-Shimano SLX Chainset Double M665 Hollowtech II
-Shimano SLX front derailleur M665
-Avid Elixir R 185mm front / 160mm rear
-Thompson Elite Stem
-Sette Duo Riser handlebar
-Race Face Evolve DH seatpost
-WTB Pure V saddle
-SRAM PC991 chain

Also, the XLT has a Fox RP3 w/ pro-pedal. Would I be able to swap the "Giant Air" rear shock out for the RP3?

So it seems that the shocks in question have the following dimensions:

Trance X4 = 7.25 (eye to eye) x 1.75 (stroke)
Dakar XLT = 7.875 (eye to eye) x 2.0 (stroke)

So I am assuming the swap won't work...
Swap won't work. The only thing different between the frames (X4,X3,X2,X1,X0) is the paint and the shock.

The rear triangle on my X0 looks different from the X3s I have seen.

To the OP, sounds like a reasonable plan, but I'd suggest an X3 for the donor because it has the Fox rear shock. It may only be the Float R, but I don't feel that I need the Propedal on my RP23 anyway.
Can anyone conirm the rear triangle difference? With regards to purchasing an X3 over the X4, the price difference between the two is much more than the price of an RP23 shock.
Yeah but can you get an RP23 shock that will fit?

FWIW the difference in the rear triangle is the Y-shaped yoke in the front looks more svelte on the X0. My wife's '08 X2 also has the svelte rear triangle.
If the X0 has an RP23 and the only difference between frames is the shock and the Y-shaped yoke of the rear triangle, is there a reason why I shouldn't be able to find an RP23 that will fit? If someone with an X0 were to need a replacement rear shock I am sure they would be able find one, correct?

Am I missing something? BTW, I appreciate all of your feedback epic.
Recently stumbled on this. Not sure if you are in the market for a medium size frame but Bobs Bicycles has some OEM frames with RP23 for $750. However there is a disclaimer that states the purchase has to be done at the retail level and not over the internet. Giants web policy I suppose !

Do a search on this forum, but my understanding is that the I2I and stroke of the TranceX is unique and not available in the aftermarket.

As for the frame, I am making the assumption that if the yoke in the rear triangle is different, there may be other differences that we can't see such as wall thicknesses in other parts of the frame.

I haven't seen this year's X1, X2, or X4, so the X0 and X3 are all I can tell you about.

Maybe you could call them, who knows, they might be able to ship to a "phone customer" without breaking any marketing rules?
