Trance X 29 update.

So I was wanting a longer travel bike and was trying to decide weather to get the Trance X 29 or the Trance Advance 27.5.
I found a shop an hour away with the new Trance X and picked up a small.
I have ridden it everyday since I got it a week ago and it's a pretty cool bike.
It's 33.2 lbs with pedals but it climbs great and I'm a gear lower then my Niner RKT on the climbs but the rear end really stays planted on the climbs. I put it in the high setting and will probably leave it there. It is so nice on the down hill rough stuff and is a really fun bike.
I will lighten it up a bit down the road but so far this is a great bike and the SLX don't feel much different then my XT stuff on my Niner. I changed the grips after the first ride and will probably change the seat but besides that, its a great bike.
Would definitely recommend this bike.

Nice. Upgrade to a lighter wheelset will probably help. And maybe some carbon bars. The stock Giant components aren't light. Glad it's working out for you.

And I agree, the SLX is a great groupset.

I'm thinking I'll probably put the DT Swiss 1900s from my Niner RKT on it down the road. Forgot to mention that I got the Trance X 29 2 with the Fox suspension.
Thanks!
I really like the 36 and DPS. I know the GRIP damper isn't as Gucci as the Grip2 and FIT4, but most of my riding buddies have the fancier dampers and they all seem to be constantly chasing the right settings. The GRIP is way better for me, just set it once and leave it there. Works great all the time for me.

Hi, I'm also looking at the Trance X 29 2. Can you post a picture of your bike, I can't seem to find an image of the size small anywhere.

Also what's your height and what do you think about standover and dropper post travel? I'm surprised Giant made the seat tube on the small so long (430mm) and worry that I won't be able to use a 150mm dropper that I'm used to. The short cranks should help, but still.

Cheers!

Mines a small and I'm 5'6" these days and it fits me well. Go on the Giant website and you can see a picture and see who has them. I'm not one that cares much about dropper posts. I like the bike alot

The fork works really nice. I have a Grip 2 on my other bike and I think this Rythem 36 works just as well
