Gonna be at a friends cabin for the weekend, I know there is a 4wd trail down at boards crossing - any suggestions for something to hit by myself in the area (could be as far as Lake Alpine I guess).

theres a trail at the corral hollow trailhead just off highway 4 on the left hand side just past the little tamarack town dont have any info other that its a trail

There are some granite slickrock slabs right in BV to play on.
Some trails I like to ride solo are Upper and Lower Tamarack(SS 'able), Alpine to Bear Valley(SS 'able) Lodgepole via the Slabs (FS and Gears)
We(da TROGS) do a mostly DH ride from Cape Horn to the Spicer Rd bridge once or twice a year. Sometimes as a shuttle or a "loop" from Bear Valley.
We'll post it here for the next one, probably in a few weeks.

Also, there is a trail(s) in Avery/Arnold area called Top of the World. I've heard it's really good.I never been on it. Maybe some locals can hook you up. Ask around at the Snoeshoe Brewery in Arnold.

Looks like the closest thing is a fire road trail through big trees, might check that out but not singletrack or technical - just something to do. Actually I will probably do the 4wd trail down at boards crossing, I kinda want to scout it out anyway. I'll save the other stuff for when I can go with someone else.
