Fun race. There is quite a bit of new stuff out there that I haven't ridden, but here's my advice:
You can probably get away with a fast back tire, but you'll want a front tire that bites on loam and forest duff.
You can get away with full sus or hardtail. Don't think it matters. No braking bumps.
The trails are varied, from tight stuff in the woods to wide-open fireroads. The climbs are pretty tough.
