Trails in/around San Dimas

Bonelli loop is right there in san dimas. I just rode that for the first time last weekend and enjoyed the ride.

It Never Rains In So. Cal.

The trail conditions here are wonderful. You've got lots of options near San Dimas although I don't ride close to there. I am sure somebody will make several recommendations for you so yes, bring your trail bike!!! Winter days here are generally in the 50's to 70's. Rain? Haaa! It never rains here!

How much time will you have to ride?
A 25min drive up the 210/118 and you get to the trails in the Chatsworth/Simi area. You'll be a few freeway minutes from La Tuna ... lots of possibilities.

Here is a good source for trails in La County with a couple from San Dimas. Just sort them by City, makes it easier to find and some of the updates are years old as the site does not get a lot of users these days.

Thanks for the info, I'll be limited to what I can ride from the hotel, we'll only have one car and I'm lucky that my bike can come along. I'll be out next wed/thurs, looking for trails. Luckily the hotel my Bro chose is right next to the Bonelli park, that's one day, maybe I'll explore the stuff above the 210 on thurs. Any good shops in the area I should check out?

You're not all that far from Fontana. You could ride two of the bigger US Cup courses - http://www.mtb-uscup.com/. Although if you're going to drive somewhere you can probably find a better spot than Fontana. Don't get your hopes up too much for Bonelli. It's not a bad spot and will work well for your location, but there are much better places to ride in SoCal.

I'm just hoping for dirt to ride on without snow. Living in Steamboat Springs has it's advantages, like great skiing, but after 18 years snow gets old and getting a ride on dirt in January will be sweet.

I lived in San Dimas for years, cut my Mountain Biking teeth there. Bonelli is OK but you have to know it to put together a good loop. I would ride Marshall Canyon, hands down. You could go several time get a different ride every time. There is no brutal climbing, but it has a lot of mild to moderately technical singletrack. It is just plain fun riding.

Stop by Incycle in San Dimas. They have a free map of Bonelli showing all the singletrack in the park so you can put them all together for a 11 mile loop. The backside of the map is Marshall Canyon which has a combination of fireroad & singletrack with some creek crossings. This one is a fun out and back and not too crowded on weekdays.
