if anyone needs help with some trail work or any dates for group work i am more than willing to help! im new to the sport and i want to get fully involved and i know that consists of helping with the trails too. i waited three days and some parts of the trails were very muddy and hard to get around. i know we're starving for some good rides so we went anyway, so i want to do my part. later

Holy Jim time

Time to get off the bikes and do some more work after even more rains. Warrior's Society is doing trail work at Holy Jim Saturday Feb 12th. We are meeting at the trailhead at 8am. Not at the road in, but at the trailhead. If you are interested go to www.warriorssociety.org and sign up. We normally host lunch.

Mission Trails

Come on out Saturday the 26th and help repair some of the battering
Mission Trails has received from the record rains this year. Meet at
the corner of Colina Dorada/Calle de Vida (Thomas Bros. Page 1230 B2)
at 8:30 a.m. It will be another sunny day in the park and the dirt
will be easy to work. You might even want to ride to the work site.

"On Sunday March 13th join the CORBA Trail Crew as we return to the La Tuna singletrack in the Verdugos Hills. We will be working on the upper section of the trail. We will once again be providing lunch from El Pollo Loco and cold drinks as well. We will meet at the top of Walnut drive in Burbank next to the Debelle golf course at 8:00 am. We will drive up the fire road to the trail head. If you want to ride your bike up to the trailhead that is an option too.

Thanks again to everyone that came out last month! We had 40 people come out! I hope we can keep that momentum going because we are going to need it after all this rain!

You'll be able to drive about 75 yds up the fireroad before coming to the first slide. Is L.A county fire planning to make the road passable by 3/13? If so, I'm willing to help out. Otherwise, the donner party is gonna be pretty tired from shoveling once they reach the singletrack summit.

Black Mountain Preserve, March 18th, San Diego

Trailwork - BLACK MOUNTAIN PARK
Saturday, March 19, 8:30am - 12noon

Over the past three years, SDMBA volunteers have transformed the
Miner's Ridge Loop Trail at Black Mountain Park from a hiker-only
single-track with significant maintenance issues into a model for a
sustainable multi-use trail. Despite the recent record rains, the
trail has held up exceptionally well and the park staff couldn't be
happier with SDMBA's efforts to date. On Saturday, March 19th, we'll
continue converting more sections of the Miner's Ridge Loop Trail
from single-use to multi-use. Specifically, we'll be replacing stone
steps with mountain-biker friendly armored switchbacks. Please join
at 8:30am in the north staging area. Upon the conclusion of trail
work (around noon), we'll be awarding swag donated by BLACK MOUNTAIN
BICYCLES by random drawing - all volunteers are eligible to win! For

Trailwork & Ride - SWEETWATER (South Bay)
Saturday April 9, 2005, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Sweetwater Summit Regional Park 3218 Summit Meadow Rd.
This is SDMBA's first organized Trailwork event in South Bay. Join our
new Liaison Glenn for some much needed trail maintenance. For a list
of what to bring see the TRAIL MAINTENACE page at www.SDMBA.com.
Staging area is the day-use parking up by the Ranger Station /
Campground 4 mi. east of I-805 from Bonita Rd., or exit Briarwood Rd.
from SR-54. Trail-tread repair on trail around reservoir, followed by
a bike ride. If you need more info contact [email protected]

Finally, some work on Sweetwater. That place is over grown. Real bad. Cool thing is that its right next to my school.

2) Elfin Forest Now Open!
The staff at Elfin Forest have done a fantastic job of getting the
Reserve back into shape after the devastating rains this season. The
Reserve is fully open, and the Way Up Trail looks better then ever.
The new Hodges Overlook Trail is now open, adding an additional 3.2
miles (out and back) to the existing network. The view from this
overlook provides scenes of Bernardo Peak, Lake Hodges, Olivenhain
Reservoir and Dam, Black Mountain, and the Pacific Ocean, just to name
a few. This is a popular park so please help to keep this great
riding area open by encouraging your fellow riders to be responsible
and courteous to other trail users. To get involved, contact SDMBA's

upcoming events.
