Thanks to all those that helped today... Another 3 work days like this (and a couple days with my tractor) and the course will be ready.

First race is for the Sierra Nevada High School MTB League on March 12.

Second race on March 27th for the Prairie City Prologue and Packet Pickup (PCPPP)???

For those who come and help out you will be invited to the eclusive test ride days on this course. NOTE: This is prison property and CLOSED any other time.

This is some SWEEEEET stuff.

If you are interested in helping out, feel free to email me!

Thanks again all!

Nice.

Just curious - does not it need to settle down for some time before being raced on?

Sure, preferably and the next couple weeks of weather should help and if we get good weather on race day like we've had the last few weeks it will be golden
or you could just let everyone ride it on these exclusive days...to get it really nice!

Since poaching prison rides is a lil sketchy.

Yeah, man you should have seen the patrol guard on duty the first time we did a permitted scouting ride... of course the guard tower or the patrol guard did not "get the memo" that was sent out... I'm glad he was not carrying a gun!

The dude was about to blow his top until we got it straightened out... these boys are all pumped up... and probably for good reason, so please stay clear (until race day!)
Looks awesome! Sorry if this is a dumb question, but will this trail eventually be accessible anytime, or only for events and stuff like that (since you mentioned prison property)?

Don't know the logistics of this trail. . .but it could be an great pay to play type trail like Tamarancho!

I bet you'd shave a couple minutes off your lap time if bullets were whizzing by. Just a thought.. :D
Trail work day #2 - Feb 20 - CHAIN GANG needed!

Hello All!

First - Thank you trail crew #1! Great job!

Another trail work day is scheduled for this Sunday Feb 20. We are going to do more awesome trails like THIS.

If you come help you get invited to the trail ride day in Mid March! You will also have first dibs on being a "trail marshall" for the Sierra Nevada High School MTB race on March 12, which will be another opportunity to cruise around on the course.

This is all in preparation for the Sierra Nevada High School MTB race on March 12th and the Prairie City Prologue and Packet Pick Up day on March 27th, the Prison race on May 15 and Cyclebration MTB race and Time Trial and XC race Sept 17/18.

If you can't make it, please pass the word!

SPECIAL NOTES:

•Absolutely NO blue jeans or camo clothes (prison rules)
•9AM until 3pm or so - meet in the lower parking lot next to the rodeo arena
•RAIN will cancel and will re-sched for following week.
•Bring water and sunscreen as needed
•Bring trail tools - shovel, pick, rack or McCloud if you have one.
•Small children not advised.
•Please RSVP - we are going to limit the crew to 25

Come on out and have some fun! When we are done these trails will be awesome!

Meet in the parking lot behind the Folsom Senior Center at 48 Natoma Street, Folsom. Google map: https://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&so...44,-121.163685&spn=0.005955,0.010214&t=h&z=17

If you get there late, just follow the fenceline down under the power lines, the gate will be unlocked. Watch/follow blue ribbons.

The new course will look like this: https://www.racemtb.com/images/2011/PrisonCourse2011.jpg

Thank you!

They got to break rocks on the "city side" of the property line :D ... no kiddin' though, no jeans on the prison side.

WTF are you supposed to wear? slacks? a bikini?

Jeans are the best workpants that everyone has...
Clearly Dickies or something is sponsoring this trail building effort.

Parts of the City side are certainly ridable, great trails, but short and only out and back... the prison property is strictly off limits. :nono:

I would welcome the day that the City of Folsom would annex that piece of land, or get permenent access to it.

We WILL do a couple test rides on scheduled days before the race... if you come help on a work day you will be invited  :)
