Anyone wearing the Trail 120 mountain bike shoe? Looks like a sweet shoe - stiff sole with protection - but it's pricey! Wish they made one like it based on the less expensive sole rather than using the carbon sole.

I have a pair of them. The took a few rides to break in and get use to as I wasn't use to the restriction of movement of my ankles. Now about about 6 rides in I am use to them and they have a lot more movement front to back with the ankles. They are really light wieght and the sole is supper stiff.

I have only ridden with shimano shoes up to this point the M180's and I feel these give a bit more power to the pedals and my knee's feel much better plus i like having all velcro rather then the buckle and velcro.

Interested to hear a follow up on the Trail 120 now that you've had a chance to ride them a bit more.

How do they feel off the bike? I'm a bit concerned that a shoe that is advertised as being super stiff would still be comfortable if you had a run-up section, or if you had to walk in them. Is the sole rubber grippy enough to scramble over rocks, or will it be like ice skating if you have to get off the bike?

Anyone else have a pair of these shoes?? Looks like a good idea - the best of both worlds...just want to make a smart decision as I hope to be spending alot of time in them!!!

Been able to test out the shoe in the wet and cold now and I happy to report it works really well. I have not slipped yet on any rocks, roots, or mud. As for walking in them they do just fine, I wouldn't want to spend all day walking in them but don't mind keeping them on when I drive home, and when I am cleaning up the bike.

120 SL V 110 MTB Shoe

Who has a 120 sl boot? I'm interested in one of those but see there's a 110 out there but cheaper heavier? I havent seen a similar boot so want some opinions before using a discount voucher.

I am seriously thinking about the 110 .. The 120 was too expensive for my tastes, but looked the mutts! The 110 is quite a bit cheaper, and roughly the same so they should be waaay better value. A recent review said that they come up a little small, so check sizing.

I picked up a set of the Trail 120s last year. They are awesome shoes. They are super stiff and very light. The carbon sole makes them the most efficient mtb shoe I've owned - they could easily compete for stiffness with high end road shoes.

If the 110s were availablethen, I would have gone with them due to the price. I have a set of low-cut Specialized shoes with the same sole that comes on the 110, and they work great. I wouldn't hesitate to choose them - the weight can't be that much different since it's the same sole that come on the BG Comp shoe.

Keep in mind that they aren't ventilated as well as a typical mountain bike shoe. I prefer to wear the better vented low-cuts during the summer and switch back to the 120s in the fall and through the winter. For reference - I'm in Charlotte, NC.

As far as size goes - find a shop that carries the 07 BG Comp shoe to try for sizing, the fit should be the same since they use the same sole.

The price I can get the 120 SL is 120 Brittish pounds and the 110 at 80ish. I did have an 04 Sport shoe so should be the same as then 42.

Currently using an old set of Specialized Sawpits that I need to replace.

I want high top shoes due to bagged ankles. I like the ankle pads, and the flexible toe for hike-a-bike sections.

What size are you looking for. The Trail 120's run one size smaller than the other shoes.

I have been wearing the Trail 120 sl shoes for about a year now with no complaints whatsoever. The soles are starting to wear with bits of the lugs breaking off, but I chalk that to the rocky, rooty Northeastern terrain that are rough on shoes. They have saved my ankles on a couple of nasty falls. After they break in (not a long period) they are super comfortable.
