May have at least as much to do with the head angle you're gonna end up with as well as potential frame damage. My fellow mechanic at the shop has a newer Heckler, and he just installed my '03 Firefly on it. After some test rides, you can tell that much taller of a fork is really going to start screwing up the handling. My Bullit with a Z150 on it sitting next to his really shows how much taller his bike is going to sit up. The axle/crown on a Z150 is tall, but there's not much else out there in the 6" range that's going to be much shorter. And if you put a (7"?) Jr.T on it, you'll have a rig that the boys at Orange County Choppers would be proud of. A Heckler is a great bike, but it's limited on how big a fork you can put on it. Unlike older Bullits that can easily be upgraded from 6" to 7" (and actually even 8"), the Heckler's swingarm is already at its max extension with a 7.875" shock. Bullits are very tough frames. The '03 & later models are even tougher--gussets and tubing mods. Anything can be broken, but the Bullit has as solid a reliability history as one could hope for. When you factor in the price and weight of a Bullit frame, it's downright impressive. do what your pocket book can afford. the heckler is a sturdy rig. what size and year is it? im look for at least an 2003 large to build into a sub 30lb trail rig
