We do have Thule here in EU but the way you have to secure the mtb (Carbon) on the hitch rack, sometimes you don’t know wether it’s too tight or not and that’s scary with Carbon sometimes.

The hitch-rack from 1Up seems like a better option because you don’t touch the frame to enclose it, but I can’t seem to order this for the EU. Is it because we use towballs here and it’s not compatible that way or does someone have a similar option here in the EU?

Correct.

When I looked into this, the only non-contact racks I could find were from Saris.

Maybe now that they have their new "MTR" rack, they'll bring it to Europe soon? Maybe shoot them an email.

Otherwise the only thing I could think of was to put 1up roof trays on a Euro tow-ball frame?

Maybe something like a Thule Easy Base 949?

1Up may just not export, but, no, we do not use a towball setup in the US like in the EU. Our receivers have to be mounted high enough so that an accessory like a bike rack or cargo tray can be mounted without threat of striking the ground on most transitions, which can be pretty steep in some areas.

If you mounted a US bike or cargo tray in your towball receiver location, it would be too close to the ground.
